Everyone knows what search engines are and how to use them. But is your web site correctly
set up to allow search engines to index it accurately?
When a search engine visits your web site, it's looking for:
-
Unique well written content
Search engines like text content that is interesting and not the same as everybody else's
web site. This will make your site stand out from other similar sites.
-
Content that changes
If the search engine has not found any new content on the page in the last few visits,
then your ranking could be affected. So keep your content updated.
-
Keywords to index your web site
Keywords are words or phrases that the search engine finds in your web site. They try to pick
keywords that reflect the page content. Be sure to include keywords in your content that your
clients will use to search for you on the web.
Be sure that your web site has good text content that gets updated on a regular basis. The
updates do not have to be major changes. Adding, changing or removing a paragraph every four
to six weeks should be enough to keep the search engines happy.
I look forward to providing you with information and ideas that will allow you to improve your
web site so that it can help improve your business. Remember when you talk with customers ask:
"What did you search for to find us on the web?" so you can start thinking like your customers.
