When a person visits one of your website pages you have about only 7 to 9 seconds to get their
attention and give them a reason to stay. So be sure that your page loads quickly.
You need a "call to action" to get the visitor to follow the path you have created to
get them to make a purchase, sign up for a service, or go to the next page. It is
very important to be sure that your website is VERY easy to navigate, and that the path you want
them to follow is very clear. This can be as easy as making your call to action stand out a little
more. Use a different color button than the normal default button color used for other things on the page.
Any good business coach will tell you to "Test and Measure" everything to see what works.
One option in the web world is to create an alternate version of your website or product pages and see
which ones have the higher conversion/sales rate. One test I saw had very nice pictures of the
product in displays, while the other version had basic pictures of only the product. In this case
the page with the basic product pictures had a much better conversion/sales rate. The reason was
that people could easily see what they were purchasing.
I look forward to providing you with information and ideas that will allow you to improve your
website, so that it can help improve your business. Remember when you talk with customers ask:
"What did you search for to find us on the web?" so you can starting thinking like your customers.
