Pictures are important but you still need good text content for the search engines. Also, pictures can take a lot longer to download than text. Some people may not stay at your site long enough for the picture to download. It is important that all pictures used on your website be properly resized to display correctly. If you take a digital camera picture which can be over 1mb is size and display it as a 2 inch by 2 inch image on your website, the browser will need to download that large image and then resize it before it can be displayed (very slow process). It is better to resize the pictures to 72 DPI and the size displayed them as before you put them on your website. Doing this will increase your page load speed and help keep your visitors happy.
